Clad in skin-tight leather trousers and a sheer bra-revealing top, the 24-year-old looked dressed to impress as she took to the stage.

Changing from the elegant white backless gown she wore to collect her award for Video of the Year, the star lived up to her Good Girl Gone Bad reputation in her red outfit.

Descending from her “throne” at the top of the stage, Rihanna was joined by “Cockiness” rapper ASAP Rocky – who planted a kiss on the singer’s face before cheekily squeezing her BUM.

RiRi then sent the crowd wild by jumping into the audience, turning the set into an all-out dance party complete with strobe lights and balloons.

Fellow pop princess Lady Gaga was not at the Awards but was left reeling by Rihanna’s show-stopping act.

The Born This Way singer tweeted: “what a lovely performance by @Rihanna! I feel like I’m sixteen again watching the VMAS, and then i remember i get to do this too. #socrazy”

Two fellas who would have been paying particular attention to her performance were exes Chris Brown and Drake, who were also at the Awards bash.

The two musicians have had a long-running feud over Rihanna – and recently clashed in a New York nightclub, leaving Chris with a gashed chin.

Rihanna recently admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves ex Chris Brown, even though he brutally attacked her when they were dating in 2009.

She told the chat show host: “I think he was the love of my life.”

And she gave a very public display of affection last night as she gave Chris a hug on stage as he collected his award for Best Male Video.
